On March 1, 2013, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission made a decision to support the American Transmission Company’s recommendation to put transmission lines overhead in our 95^th Street neighborhood along Highway 45.

Despite our neighborhood’s best efforts, which included an aggressive legal and public education campaign, we were unable to convince state regulators to bury the lines. While we are disappointed, we are also incredibly thankful to those who took time to send emails, write letters, make calls or show up at the many hearings and meetings to voice an opinion.

We are thankful to everyone who stood with us in this effort, including neighbors, Milwaukee Montessori School students, parents and faculty, St. Therese Church, Alderman Michael Murphy, Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, the Milwaukee Common Council, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and We Energies.
